My favourite things of 2024 – Part 3 of 5

Parents and children learning together in our Okanagan newcomer literacy programs!

It has been such a joy to watch learning and community interweave in the Story As Community family reading programs and the Youth Voices creative writing program.

This past fall we had 5 weekly programs running in Kelowna and Vernon and hearing the feedback from participants was one of my favourite things, filling up my heart to the brim!*

I tallied the numbers and 39 volunteers supported 38 families in 2024. I had to double count because I couldn’t believe it the first time.

See below for some photos and quotes from parent participants!
